Made for the Brands that
live it.
I spent my childhood watching explorers tell stories from the edges of the world. Now that's exactly where I take your brand.
I'm Ben Vallance — a cinematographer and director of photography based in Salt Lake City. I've built Vallance Creative around one idea: the best outdoor content isn't made by people who visit the wild. It's made by people who belong there.
I've spent years in the field — remote ridgelines, desert canyons, backcountry terrain that takes hours to reach. That time outside isn't background color. It's the foundation of every shoot I run.
That same instinct drives my documentary work. I've embedded with search and rescue teams in some of the most demanding terrain in the American West — work that demands patience and the ability to earn access no gear package can buy.
I work with outdoor and adventure brands, gear companies, tourism boards, and conservation organizations who need cinematography and photography as uncompromising as the terrain they operate in.
“The best outdoor content isn’t made by people
who visit the wild. It’s made by people
who have a deep love and passion for the outdoors.”
What makes me Different.
-
I know how light moves through a canyon in the afternoon. I know where to be at dawn and why it matters. That time in the mountains — sleeping in it, waking up in it, watching it change — is what separates technical competence from genuine instinct.
-
Before I pick up a camera, I want to understand your audience, your goals, and what you need people to do after they watch. The work has to be beautiful and effective. One without the other isn't enough.
-
Same preparation. Same standards. Same care for your brand — whether it's our first shoot together or our fifth season. That consistency is what makes a real creative partnership work.
